After the death of Rapper Rich Homie Quan, his girlfriend’s heartbreaking call to 911 has been shared online alongside the incident report.
The Atlanta star, who rose to fame with Young Thug, died at the age of 34 on September 5.
According to the incident report obtained by various local outlets, emergency services were called around 11.30 in the morning and arrived at a house on Hamden Forest Drive, where he was found unresponsive.
In an audio clip shared with various outlets, the rapper’s girlfriend Amber Williams can be heard crying on the phone to 911 as she explained how her boyfriend had been “asleep on the couch since this morning, but he never came to bed last night.”
She added that she’d left him on the couch before taking her son to school in the morning and put a blanket on him “because he was cold.”
She explained that now she couldn’t “see him breathing,” and “couldn’t feel a heartbeat,” and when she tried to turn him over “he kind of foamed at the mouth.”
The rapper’s girlfriend was then asked if she had a defibrillator nearby, to which she responded, “I don’t know what that is.”
She was then instructed to lie him on his back on the floor and remove anything under his head and she responded, “he is not waking up, quick.”
After she was able to get the rapper on the floor, in the final moments of the audio call, she was guided through how to perform CPR.
After being taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, the rapper, whose real name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar, was pronounced dead.
An official cause of Rich Homie Quan’s death has not yet been determined by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, and previously the office told Newsweek, “at this time, we cannot confirm or deny any information regarding Dequantes Devontay Lamar.”
Rich Homie Quan initially gained attention alongside Young Thug due to their collaboration in particular on the popular mixtape Rich Gang: Tha Tour Part 1.
Their relationship eventually resulted in public feuds, the details of which are widely varied, but seemingly revolve around their differing views on their careers.
Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, and several co-defendants are currently facing charges related to racketeering conspiracy and participation in criminal street gang activity, along with drug and gun charges, in an ongoing trial.
